Presentation of the Alfred Kerr Prize for Literary Criticism 2024
Public Honour for Wolfgang Matz with Laudatory Speech and Acceptance Speech
As part of the Leipziger Buchmesse, the magazine Börsenblatt and the Stiftung Buchkultur und Leseförderung des Börsenvereins des Deutschen Buchhandels are awarding the Alfred Kerr Prize for Literary Criticism, endowed with 5,000 euros, to the critic, literary scholar, author, translator and editor Wolfgang Matz. He is being honored for his well-reasoned, elegant and entertainingly written reviews.
Swiss journalist and literary critic Andreas Isenschmid, who writes mainly for the NZZ am Sonntag arts section and Die Zeit, will give the laudatory speech for Wolfgang Matz. Karin Schmidt-Friderichs, President of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association, will give the welcoming address.
