Automated Direct Ordering with EDI

Pubnet organizes the ordering process between publishers and booksellers in North America and Brazil using the worldwide standard Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Orders are transferred completely automatically to Pubnet via the point of sale (POS) systems and forwarded to the relevant publishers. The main benefit of the system is the increase in efficiency: Bookstores connect to one system and thus reach all relevant publishers; for publishers, it is no longer necessary to connect to over 1,000 individual bookstores. This is particularly relevant when large bookstores communicate with smaller publishers and smaller bookstores with publishers.
